Whether one is a non-Christian, a non-baptized believer, or a baptized Christian from another Church, all those seeking to become Johannine Catholic must go to the local parish, present oneself to the local priest and request to be enrolled in the Order of Catechumens in order to begin prayer and religious instruction as a Christian in the Johannine Catholic Church.
As a Catechumen, one begins to live the Christian life in faith, hope and love, through prayer, penance and study, in preparation for reception into the Church through the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Communion, which usually occurs during the Vigil Celebration of the Holy Eucharist for the Great Feast of Easter.
For those who have never been baptized, these individuals are received through Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Communion.
For Christians who have been baptized in another Church, these individuals are received through Confirmation and Holy Communion.
For those Christians who have been baptized and confirmed in another church with Apostolic Succession, these individuals are received by making a Profession of Faith, through reciting the Johannine Profession of Faith, in the presence of the local bishop, witnessed by the local congregation, during the celebration of the Holy Eucharist.
